Swallows & Amazons

Arranging Neil Hannon’s songs … The National Theatre with Tom Morris and Helen Edmundson started developing a musical version of Swallows and Amazons in 2007.  The Divine Comedy’s frontman Neil Hannon wrote the music.

The musical premiered at the Bristol Old Vic on 1 December 2010 and played at the Vaudeville Theatre, in London’s West End, from 15 December 2011, prior to going on tour around the UK from January to May 2012.
The production is being revived with new arrangements in Bristol this Christmas.

Seventh Heaven

Seventh Heaven is a new double album of pieces written by Anthony Phillips and I and released last year on Voiceprint. It collects together works we have produced for a number of different projects over the last five years both including solo works, chamber and orchestral pieces.

I wrote the music for this three part fascinating documentary on BBC Two earlier this year.  Presented by Pamela Cox and directed by Archie Powell the show charts the history of the British shopgirl from the mid-nineteenth century.

Russian Yeti: The Killer Lives

I wrote the score for this documentary in which explorer Mike Libecki investigates a famous 50 year old Russian mysterious mass murder in the Ural Mountains.

Vodka Empire

I scored this movie in which director Daniel Edelstyn embarks on a voyage of discovery which leads him from a mysterious family diary and small investigation of his family history to a Vodka Factory in the Ukraine owned by his aristocratic ancestors who were forced out during the revolution.
